Tel: 01236 748 748 The Dalziel Centre is a Day Hospice for patients with cancer in Lanarkshire. It is based at Strathclyde Hospital in Motherwell and offers emotional psychological and social support to patients, carers and families who live with a cancer diagnosis.
The Centre helps patients live with their cancer with confidence and dignity and offers carers respite for the day while patients receive support in a safe and comfortable environment. Patients can be referred by GPs, district nurse, Macmillan nurse, hospital staff, social workers and the St Andrew’s Hospice.
Drop in
Anyone from Lanarkshire area can also drop Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm. Alternatively you can call the helpline on 01698 245076.
Information and Advice
The specialist nurse and team of nursing staff offer advice and information. There is also an information centre where you can access the Lanarkshire Cancer Information Service.
Clinics
Pain and symptom clinics run twice a week for patients who have complex pain and symptom issues. These are available via GP referral.
Counselling
Counselling will help you to look at problems you are facing in a safe and supportive environment. Patients who attend the Dalziel Unit are offered this service.
Complementary Therapies
Cancer patients and their main carers can benefit from the complementary service. The services on offer are Aromatherapy, Reiki,Reflexology and Indian Head Massage.
