Role of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder Nurse Practitioner
Welcome to the Autistic Spectrum Disorder(ASD) Nurse Practitioner department, part of the Adult Learning Disability Service.
Based within Kirklands Hospital, Bothwell, the service covers the whole of Lanarkshire and can provide the following services to people who are over 16 and have a learning disability:
- assessment and diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorders
- provide support and information for the individual, family and carers
- provide training, education and awareness raising for others involved with the individual
- Referrals can be made via the Adult Learning Disability referrals procedure
The majority of the referrals are to provide support and training to individuals, families and carers.
