Joint Health Protection Plan

The Public Health etc. (Scotland) Act 2008 requires NHS Boards, in consultation with Local Authorities, to produce a Joint Health Protection Plan which provides an overview of health protection (communicable disease and environmental health) priorities, provision and preparedness for the NHS Board area.

This is the first Lanarkshire Joint Health Protection Plan and covers the period from 1 April 2010 to 31 March 2012.  It is a public document and is available to members of the public on this website and on request.  We hope that you will find this plan to be of interest, and of value, and that its production will contribute to protecting the health of the people who visit, work and live in Lanarkshire.

The Plan was approved by NHS Lanarkshire Board on 24 March 2010 and is due to be formally considered for approval by North Lanarkshire Council and by South Lanarkshire Council during April to June 2010.
